Philosophy

Our philosophy in treatment is that every child is unique and has his or her own learning style.  Each child should be provided with an intervention specific to their strengths and needs.  We use both developmental approaches to treating children with disabilities as well as behavioral approaches to learning.  Monitoring progress through data collection, observations, and parent report ensures that the best treatment approach is being used and that progress is being made.
We have experience in:
* Play-based instruction
* Social stories
* Visual supports
* Visual schedules
* Social skills training
* Joint Activity Routines
* Augmentative Communication Systems
* Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS)
* Problem-Solving Method
* Behavior Intervention
* Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)
* Discrete Trial Training (DTT)
* Pivotal Response Training (PRT)
* Task analysis of learning steps
* Errorless learning approach

We also believe that learning occurs throughout every moment of a child’s life.  It is essential that parents, educators, and therapists work together to use all the teachable moments available through the day.
